Christian Leadership Podcasts; Five Options
Christian leadership is the focus of many podcasts, so many that you face decision overload. Five podcasts I have found particularly helpful are:
· Going Beyond Ministries with Priscilla Shrier
https://www.goingbeyond.com/podcast/
Priscilla Shrier, one of Pastor Tony Evans’ daughters, is a well-known speaker, writer, and Bible teacher. While she focuses more on her weekly blogs, she does offer a hybrid experience with Spotlight, a question and answer series. Shrier both answers questions about herself and interviews prominent believers whose lives are worth emulating. Also, her 2014 podcasts on “Resolution for Women” are worth a listen, as they cover topics emphasized in Titus 2 (such as integrity and loving husband and children).
· Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcast
https://www.life.church/leadershippodcast
Groeschel is the pastor of the multi-site Life.Church, which produces the YouVersion app. Groeschel provides new leadership content the first Thursday of each month. Between these regular podcasts and the bonus material, the site offers over 100 podcasts. Groeschel aims for the larger audience, but often interviews Christian leaders or offers special content for believers. His material is concise, biblically-sound, and practical. Where to begin? Listen to his recent podcasts (April and May 2022) about leading out of a crisis.
· Let’s Talk, A Gospel Coalition Podcast
https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/podcasts/tgc-podcast/
This podcast specifically addresses women. Jasmine Holmes, Melissa Kruger, and Jackie Hill Perry discuss many topics, including such recent ones as “When Others Fall Away,” “How to Spot and Let Go of Shame,” and “Friendships with People Unlike Yourself.”
· John Maxwell Leadership Podcast
https://johnmaxwellleadershippodcast.com
John Maxwell has written on leadership, and especially Christian leadership, for many years. He has sold over 30 million books. With over 200 episodes, his podcasts address many different aspects of leadership. Three recent ones were about John Wooden, diverse teams, and gaining influence. Browse away!
· Cary Nieuwhof Leadership Podcast
https://careynieuwhof.com/mypodcast
Having served as a lead pastor for twenty years, Canadian Nieuwhof offers both interviews of newsmakers and insights into contemporary issues and challenges. His website also features a blog addressing leadership and productivity. With about 500 podcast episodes (as of this writing), Nieuwhof talks with people as different as Seth Godin and Andy Stanley, Annie F. Downs and Francis Chan. These podcasts tend to be long, so break them up or fast forward to the content that most interests you.
